Alleged cocaine smuggler spent his time in Colombia ‘sightseeing’

An Italian man accused of smuggling £41m worth of cocaine into the UK on a luxury private jet claimed he only left his hotel in Colombia for ‘sightseeing.’ Alessandro Iembo, 28, and four others were found with the drugs on January 29 after Border Force officials swooped on them at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, a court heard.
