Controversial ‘named person’ scheme blocked by Supreme Court
Controversial legislation which would have seen every Scottish child overseen by a state-appointed guardian until adulthood was blocked by The Supreme Court today (Thurs). Campaigners won a two-year legal battle to stop the Scottish government’s ‘named person’ scheme after a panel of five judges ruled that it is incompatible with European law.
