Coroner demands food label changes after sandwich death

A coroner has demanded changes in food labelling at the inquest of a teenager who died from a severe allergic reaction after eating a Pret a Manger sandwich. Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, 15, ate sesame seeds in the artichoke, olive and tapanard baguette which did not mention the ingredient on the label. Under EU regulations, food companies are required to warn customers about allergy risks either on the packaging or on a fridge stickers telling customers to ask staff members for details….
