Killer murdered two pensioners

A double killer murdered a World War Two veteran for jewellery including a gold watch taken from a German soldier, a court heard. Michael Weir, 52, allegedly beat Leonard Harris, 79. to death and also attacked his wife Gertrude, who was suffering from dementia, after breaking into their home in January 1998.
