 BOWES: COP FACES JAIL FOR SELLING STORIES TO THE SUNSTEYNING, WEST SUSSEX
A police officer who made £500 selling stories to The Sun newspaper is facing jail today (Fri).
Sgt James Bowes, 30, was given the cash in exchange for the names and contact details of people involved in an incident.
On another occasion, the Sussex Police officer handed over details of an upcoming police search, along with contact details of a witness.
He also phoned the now-defunct News of The World to offer scraps of information - asking what it 'was worth' - but no money changed hands.

 KLEIN: BAN FOR DOCTOR WHO ASKED HIS PATIENTS FOR DATESYORK
A doctor who abused his position to pursue women by asking them out for a drink has been banned from working for five months.
Dr Stefen Klein, 38, invited two young, vulnerable patients recently treated on dates while working as a GP in north Yorkshire in 2010.
One of the patients was just 18 at the time when the medic passed her a scrap of paper with his personal number scrawled on it in the Estrick Surgery car park, in York.
He then asked her out on a date before leaning into her car to put a ‘bravery sticker’ on her chest.

HEATBREAK: BOXER FACES JAIL FOR CASH FOR CRASH SCAMBRENTFORD
A talented boxer is facing jail for conning insurance giants Aviva out of £52,000 in a crash-for-cash scam.
Kevin Heartbreak, 28, aka Majib Sediqy, bought scrapped cars before getting insurance cover under a fake name.
He would then drive them out, set up a crash site and report a fake accident.
The insurers paid out after the cars were collected from the roadside.

DUNN: JAIL FOR PUSHER CAUGHT WITH DRUG AND GUN STASHPIMLICO, SOUTHWEST LONDON; BEXLEYHEATH, SOUTHEAST LONDON
A pusher caught with a stash of drugs and weapons was jailed for seven-and-a-half years today (Thurs).
John Dunn, had heroin and crack worth nearly £7,000 hoarded at his flat in Pimlico, southwest London.
Cops also seized a Hungarian FEG 9mm pistol and a loaded German Cuno Melcher pistol when they swooped last October 2.

 O'NEILL: NO BAN FOR DRINK-DRIVE DOCAIRDRIE
A doctor who drank half a bottle of vodka then got behind the wheel of his car has been allowed to return to work.
Dr Brian O'Neill was convicted of drink driving at Airdrie Sheriff Court in September 2011 after he was caught three times over the legal limit following a prang.
He was banned from driving for two years and put on a two year community payback order but did not inform the General Medical Council (GMC) of his conviction.

A terrorist plot to murder 2,000 Britons in a bid to rival the 7/7 atrocities was 'a long way from being viable', a court heard.
Irfan Khalid, 28, and Irfan Naseer, 31, were the ringleaders of a plot to detonate suicide bombs across the UK, in a bid to rival the 7/7 atrocities.
Khalid, the ideological leader of the group, was taped by security services promising the attacks would be 'another 9/11, revenge for everything'.

 BASSETT: NURSE USED DIRTY NEEDLE FOR SCHOOLGIRL JABLINCOLNSHIRE
A nurse injected a schoolgirl with a syringe she had accidentally pricked her finger with, a hearing was told today (Weds).
Alison Bassett, 49, knew the needle was contaminated but continued to vaccinate a patient, it is alleged.
Bassett failed to report what had happened until she was confronted about the lapse a week later, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.

 ZERIA: SHOOTING SUSPECT IN COURTSOUTHGATE, NEWINGTON GREEN, NORTH LONDON
An alleged killer accused of gunning a man down in the street appeared in court today (thurs).
Samuel Zeria, 20, allegedly shot 34-year-old Zafer Eren in Fontaine Court in Southgate, north London, at around 7.20pm on April 18.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, with a post-mortem examination gave cause of death as gunshot wounds to the chest.

 ALI: TERROR ACCUSED DENIES POSSESSING AL QAEDA MAGBETHNAL GREEN, EAST LONDON
A man accused of possessing an Al Qaeda internet magazine denied terror offences when he appeared at the Old Bailey today. (Thurs)
Afsor Ali, 26, is charged with four counts of possessing documents containing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
Two of the charges concern electronic files containing online terror magazine 'Inspire.'

 CRAIG: INSURANCE BOSS BOUGHT PORSCHE USING FIRM'S CASHSOUTH NORWOOD, SOUTH LONDON; CITY OF LONDON
Bosses at a top City insurance firm had the misfortune to hire a convicted fraudster as an administrative manager who used their credit cards to buy herself a Porsche, a court heard.
Roseanne Craig, 48, was in breach of a suspended sentence for an almost identical fraud and the CV she submitted to the Guy Carpenter company was a work of fiction.
She had previously worked at another firm where she also used the company credit card to buy luxury goods to 'keep up with the Joneses.'

 EDONMI: NURSE LET SON ROAM THE STREETSSOUTH NORWOOD, SOUTH LONDON
A nurse allowed her three year-old son to roam the streets barefoot when she left him home alone to charge her electricity key, a tribunal heard.
Police were called by neighbours saying they had seen a small child wearing nothing but an over-sized t-shirt dodging traffic in South Norwood, south London.
Officers took the little boy home and had to wait for thirty minutes before mother Dorothy Edonmi returned to the flat, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
