A thug who left a journalist battling for his life after stamping on his head was jailed for four years today (Weds).
Mohammed Islam, 19, left Joseph Wobij in a three week coma after punching him to the ground and stamping twice on his head 'with full force'.
The Sunday Times journalist was left with a fractured skull, and doctors initially thought he was going to die.
He has recovered from his injuries, but has been left with no sense of taste or smell, as well as ongoing psychological trauma.

TRADESMAN HAD TAKEN TEN DIFFERENT TYPES OF DRUGLEWISHAM
A tradesman accidentally killed himself after taking a lethal cocktail of alcohol and drugs, an inquest heard.
Bryan Wade, 51, was found by a council worker at his Lewisham home
after worried friends and family who had not seen him for days.
Paramedic Wendy Barry went to the address in Brandram Road on the January 4 2013.
‘He was lying semi-prone on his left side. His hands were purple in colour,' Ms Berry told Southwark Coroner's Court.
‘He was cold to touch and rigor mortis had set in.

 HACKERS BOASTED THEY WERE 'GODS' AS THEY ATTACKED CIA AND PENTAGONDONCASTER, YORKS; WICKFORD, ESSEX; SHETLAND; SPALDING, LINCS; DEPTFORD, PECKHAM, SOUTHEAST LONDON
Four hackers who boasted that they were 'Gods' as they waged an online campaign against websites belonging to the CIA, the Pentagon and the NHS are facing jail today (Weds).
Ryan Ackroyd, 26, posed as a 16-year-old girl called Kayla to mastermind the campaign of cyber attacks by internet group Lulzsec in 2011.
He was the chief hacker of the shady online outfit, which hijacked websites belonging to The Sun and the News of the World, electronics giant Sony, and film studios 20th Century Fox.
The group bragged 'We are Gods now' as they launched waves of attacks against Nintendo, the UK's Serious and Organised Crime Agency, and the Arizona State Police, Southwark Crown Court heard.

 MAINDS:SURGEON KEEPS JOB AFTER FAILING TO PROVIDE GOOD CLINICAL CAREGLASGOW, ISLE OF ARRAN, SCOTLAND
A bungling spinal surgeon who failed to provide good clinical care to nine patients at a private hospital can continue working subject to conditions of practise for two years, a tribunal ruled today (weds)
Dr Colin Campbell Mainds, 56, made a series of blunders while working at the BMI Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow, between January 2008 and December 2009 after allowing his workload to 'spiral out of control.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service panel in Manchester found Dr Mainds botched operations by misplacing screws, carried out inappropriate surgery and performed surgery despite a 'normal' MRI scan.
Other charges found proved earlier this year related to poor record keeping, inadequate examinations of patients and failure to tell patients about his clinical errors.

WEBSTER: 'PERHAPS I WAS SILLY TO TAKE AN BROWN ENVELOPE CONTAINING £6K'ABERDEEN, GURNSEY, RICHMOND
A businessman accused of corruption said he was 'naïve' to take an envelope with £6,000 in cash given to him at a bar, a court heard.
Gary Webster, 54, pocketed the payment in 2004 and told police he believed the money was for helping to set up a new business venture.
He is standing trial accused of being involved in a conspiracy to bribe a senior BP employee to secure deep-sea diving contracts worth millions of pounds.
Webster admits taking the envelope of cash, but denies any knowledge of a subsequent plot masterminded by Terry Hall to receive £350,000 in bungs between 2004 and 2008.

 'WESTERN WOMEN OPEN THEIR LEGS FOR ANYONE' SAYS 'PERVERTED' PLASTIC SURGEONPINNER
An Iranian plastic surgeon told a patient 'women in this country open their legs for anyone' the day after he touched her sexually, a hearing was told today.
Dr Jahangir Taghipour, 63, groped a colleague's breast and would touch himself when he knew she could see him, it is claimed.
He had founded the private Doctor's Makeover Clinic, in Pinner, Middlesex, where the incidents are said to have occurred.
Dr Taghipour allegedly put his hand between the woman's legs her legs during a facial chemical peel, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service heard.
He told her she was 'beautiful' and added: 'You must really look after yourself' before slipping his hand between her legs.

PHYSIO TOUCHED WOMAN'S BREASTS WHEN SHE WANTED WHIPLASH TREATMENTTRURO
A physiotherapist touched a patient's breasts when he was meant to be treating her for whiplash, a hearing was told.
Guy Atkinson allegedly smeared oil over the patient after telling her he needed to 'do something and it might appear I'm touching your breasts'.
The physiotherapist is said to have previously jiggled the woman's back so her undone bra came loose during treatment - opposite a glass picture frame that showed a reflection of her front.
The woman, a council worker referred to only as Patient A, told the Health Professions Council she was left feeling 'uncomfortable' and 'shocked' after the incident which led her to report Atkinson to the police.

A mental health clinic manager married a patient after telling him she wanted to 'rip his clothes off,' a tribunal heard.
Beverley Haworth took the patient to a pub after their second professional meeting and told him she found him attractive.
She went back to his house and had sex while he was still her patient, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
Samantha Stark, for the NMC, said: 'They met in a professional capacity when the patient was referred for therapy.

 NURSE BANNED FOR THREATENING TO POUR JUG OF WATER OVER PATIENTNEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME, STAFFS
A senior staff nurse who threatened to pour a jug of water over a patient has been suspended for six months.
Michelle Gardner also told the woman, referred to as patient A, she would not be getting any dinner if she refused to take a bath at the Bradwell Hospital, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
Gardner then wheeled the patient out of the bay on her bed in full view of a male only bay, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
She also told the woman if she did not have a bath she would do no more for her all day and said: 'If you are going to behave like a child I will treat you like one.'

 LYNCH:NURSE FAILED TO DRESS RESIDENT'S LIFE THREATENING WOUNDSDURHAM
A nurse failed to dress an elderly woman's life-threatening wounds then called her manager a 'horrible man,' a hearing was told.
Diane Lynch told her boss at the Stanley Park Care Centre in Durham to 'f**k off' and 'p**s off' during a telephone conversation.
It followed an incident days before in which Lynch failed to dress a dementia patient's bed sores, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
The mental health nurse claims the woman's care plans were 'out of date' after she was found to have grade three to four pressure ulcers.

A bomb hoaxer accused of threatening to 'bring down' London's transport system with a series of
co-ordinated explosions has been remanded in custody.
David Williamson, 49, is charged with making four calls to police warning that devices were planted at Westminster Abbey, Westminster Tube station and other unknown locations around the capital.
Williams also allegedly made a hoax call to the Park Plaza Hotel - a luxury thousand bedroom hotel overlooking Parliament.
Speaking in a thick Scottish accent, Williamson spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
