Postie boss ‘was on the nick’

A post office chief accused of abusing his position by illegally obtaining postal orders over a nine-year period is facing an Old Bailey trial. Paul Swanton, 52, allegedly pocketed orders he was not entitled to between January 2007 and March 2018. Swanton, of Furzton, Milton Keynes, Bucks, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court, speaking only to confirm his name and address.
