Jury blast prison failings as custody boss is cleared
A prison officer has been cleared of allowing a suicidal prison inmate to kill himself as a jury slammed the ‘appalling, systematic, failures’ behind the death. Joseph Travers, 55, was accused of manslaughter by gross negligence after he was on duty when Ryan Harvey hanged himself HMP Woodhill, Milton Keynes.
