Tax official denies using records to snoop on tenants
A tax official today (tues) denied using confidential records to snoop on his tenants. Timothy Stevenson, 55, is charged with misconduct in public office while working for HM Revenue and Customs between January 1996 and November 2014. It is claimed he abused public trust by the way he ‘wilfully and deliberately conducted himself in relation to confidential taxpayer information held by his employers’.
