Trial for inspector accused of violent assaults

A Met Police inspector charged with carrying out a catalogue of horrific attacks spanning a 12 year period will face trial in September, a court heard. John Doyle, 53, previously attached to the Met’s Specialist Firearms Command, faces 17 charges, including wrapping a woman’s face in clingfilm.
