Diamond geezer gets four and a half years

A wealthy scrap metal dealer who claimed he was storing £80,000 worth stolen gems and jewellery for a friend has been jailed for four and a half years behind bars. Charles Matthews, 55, was found with 50 diamonds and various items of jewellery hidden in a ceiling panel above his desk at London City Metals, in Silvertown, east London.
