Accused murderer in court

A homeless woman accused of beating a man to death at a flat has been was remanded in custody. Carol Campling, 38, is charged with murdering Mark Smith, 48, after he was found unconscious in Garenne Court, Warren Road, Chingford, east London, last Thursday. A post-mortem two days later at East Ham Mortuary gave the cause of death as multiple injuries. Mr Smith was found unconscious at around 6.45am on 15 February.
