Coroner slams op blunders
A coroner has slammed medics at a privately run hospital after a woman died following a routine kidney stone operation. Carmel Bloom, 54, died after a ‘lack of monitoring and communication’ at the former BUPA-run Roding Hospital in Ilford, where she had worked as a health controller. Ms Bloom was transferred to Whipps Cross Hospital’s intensive care unit in Leytonstone in the early hours of August 29, 2002. She slipped into a coma on the way, suffered a heart attack…
