Death driver is cleared

A motorist was cleared of killing an elderly worshipper on a pedestrian crossing  after insisting he was not racing with the BMW driver who hit the victim. Glenn Donovan, 34, told jurors he could not remember seeing Stephen Richards’ BMW before it hit Mohammed Abdul Muqtadir, 78, outside the Redbridge Islamic Centre in east London. Mr Muqtadir, who had just left prayers at the mosque, died at the scene on the A12 between Redbridge and Gants Hill from his injuries…
