Drone operator’s flight from justice

A drone operator accused of flying his surveillance device too close to buildings around Tower Bridge has said he lives too far away to turn up to court. Christopher Stannard, 48, is accused of flying the drone over a crowded area, buildings and vehicles at Potters Fields Park next to the Thames on 9 March. He did not turn up at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court but sent a letter saying he was not coming as it was too far away…
