Eight year-old boy was ‘kidnapped for sex assault’

A homeless man accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy after kidnapping him from a park has appeared in court. Shane Upton, 24, is accused of taking the child on 17 June from Southwark’s Burgess Park before sexually assaulting him. Upton appeared in court to plea to the sexual assault and kidnapping, as well as two assaults on police officers involved in his arrest.
