Jail for HGV driver who killed pensioner while he chatted on his mobile

An HGV driver has been jailed for four years after he ran over and killed a pensioner as he chatted on his mobile phone. David Hastings, 45, had both hands off the wheel as he drove down Fulham High Street in his Mercedes scaffolding lorry, the Old Bailey heard.
