January trial for cop accused of sending offensive messages

A Met Police officer accused of sending ‘grossly offensive’ messages on WhatsApp will face trial in January. PC Tom Phillips, 33, faces five charges contrary to the Communications Act 2003. The officer, who is part of the Met Ops team, was excused from attending his case management hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.
