Killer of Deonte Mowatt-Slater facing years behind bars

A killer who stabbed a teenage moped rider and left him to be found dying on the pavement by his relatives is facing years in jail. Francie McCarthy, 21, knifed Deonte Mowatt-Slater, 16, twice in Beechcroft Way, Islington, north London on 22 October last year. McCarthy was cleared of murder by an Old Bailey jury but convicted of manslaughter. He has a long list of convictions for offences including assault and possessing weapons.
