MP cleared of housing fraud
A Labour MP collapsed in tears in the dock today (Fri) as she was cleared of social housing fraud after she blamed her hard-drinking ex-husband for making bids for council properties behind her back. Apsana Begum, 31, was accused of dishonestly misleading Tower Hamlets Housing Options to ‘jump the queue’ on the social housing register.
