Murder was filmed on Snapchat

Peckham

Partygoers used Snapchat to record a teenage rapper bleeding to death after he was stabbed with a ‘Rambo’ knife at a 16th birthday party, a court heard.

Leoandro Osemeke, known as ‘Showkey’ was knifed in the heart moments after he arrived at the packed celebration in Peckham, southeast London.

The musician staggered out of the townhouse before collapsing outside in front of horrified witnesses on 5 August last year.

Showkey, 16, repeatedly tried to get to his feet as his friends begged him to stay on the ground until the emergency services arrived, jurors were told.

A teenage girl, who cannot be identified, said: ‘I saw drops of blood everywhere. People were recording him for Snapchat.

‘His friends were screaming and crying, begging him to stay alive.

‘His eyes kept going to the back of his head. I knew that he was dead. His chest wasn’t moving and he looked cold.’

Jurors have heard up to 200 people turned up at the party in Colgrave Road, Peckham, after it ‘went viral’ on social media .

The guests included rappers who had featured in ‘cribbing’ videos on celebrity presenter Tim Westwood’s Youtube channel TimWestwoodTV.

Another teenage girl who cannot be identified told jurors how she had been laughing with friends and ‘minding my own business’ before trouble suddenly broke out at the party.

She said she heard shouting and saw people pushing and shoving in the hallway before noticing Showkey moving back towards the door.

The witness said: ‘I saw the person who was getting targeted. I saw an arm moving forward.

‘I saw something going towards the person, but I wasn’t sure what it was, something like a black glove.

‘That’s when the person backed out. When the person was outside he pointed out he got stabbed.’

Doctors performed open heart surgery on Showkey at the scene but he was pronounced dead an hour later at 8.45pm.

It is claimed the 15 year-old killer admitted carrying out the stabbing before escaping out of the back garden.

The 15 year-old defendant denies murder.

The trial continues.
