A nuisance caller who terrorised Tory MP Mike Freer was angry about living in sub-standard accommodation, a court heard. Mr Freer, MP for Finchley and Golders Green, announced he was stepping back from front-line politics after receiving a series of threatening calls from James Phillips, 46, on 31 January.
