Nurse struck off for getting drunk on shift
A nurse who drank wine and vodka on shift seven times in less than a year has been thrown out of the profession. Louise Hawkins showed up for a shift in late January last year at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton, Oldham smelling of alcohol. Following an investigation it was discovered that she had been drunk at work on at least six other occasions, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
