Peppa Pig stars in murder trial

Jurors trying a dad accused of battering his six-year-old daughter to death in a moment of rage were shown a video of cartoon character Peppa Pig. The four-minute compilation of an hour-long DVD entitled ‘The Fire Engine and other stories’ was played in a hushed courtroom as Ben Butler’s defence case came to a close. Butler, 36, allegedly killed Ellie at their home in Sutton before hatching a plan with partner Jennie Gray, also 36, to cover up the murder….
