Rail worker falsely claimed he was gay to get council flat

A rail worker who falsely claimed he was homeless and gay to take over a council flat and sub let it has been spared jail. Patrick Ofori-Sampong, 50, used his knowledge of Islington’s council’s tenancy system to ‘jump the queue.’ He said he was gay so that he could take over his alleged partner’s property then tried to take possession of a pensioner’s home, claiming to be his adopted son.
