RSPCA boss faces jail for living in Premier Inn at the charity’s expense

An RSPCA boss who spent £90,000 living in hotels at the charity’s expense was warned he faces jail. Trustee David Mawson, 50, claimed he had problems with a neighbour as he spent more than 600 nights in Premier Inns and racked up a £10,000 taxi bill. Mawson stayed at hotels in Twickenham, Brentford, Victoria and Croydon as he fleeced the animal charity between 2012 and 2017, Inner london Crown Court heard.
