Child abuse squad cop dismissed for molesting girl

A detective from a Met Police child abuse squad was kicked out of the force today (thurs) for twice sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl. Det Con Christopher Maitland, 40, hoped to work with a specific ‘paedophile unit’ and told colleagues he was ‘really passionate about protecting children’.
