Midwives from scandal-hit hospital face misconduct hearing

Three midwives from a scandal-hit hospital are facing a disciplinary tribunal this week following baby deaths on its maternity wards. The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust was investigated under the orders of former Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt. Senior midwife Donna Ockenden led an enquiry to examine 23 cases of mother and baby deaths and injuries at hospitals in Shropshire between 2000 and 2017.
