Gallery worker ‘swindled £19k’

A West End art gallery assistant has denied processing fake refunds to fleece her employer out of £19,000. Victoria Hegarty, 34, allegedly transferred the cash to her personal bank account while working as an administration accounts assistant at Zari Gallery in Fitzrovia. Hegarty is said to have abused her position to authorise the refunds between 22 May and 25 October last year.
