AMOSU: FOUR BOYS DENY TEEN’S MANSLAUGHTER

Four 15 year-old boys today (Tues) denied killing a teenager who was hit by a bus.

Ezekiel Amosu, 17, was knocked down as he tried to escape from robbers who wanted his phone in Walthamstow, east London, on January 24 this year.

The teenager, who was studying music at Leyton Sixth Form College, suffered fatal crush injuries in the accident in Forest Road.

All four 15 year-old boys, who cannot be identified, appeared at the Old Bailey for a plea and case management hearing before Judge Richard Hone QC.

Three of them pleaded not guilty to two charges of attempted robbery. They are accused of trying to take Ezekiel’s phone and another boy’s phone on January 24.

All four denied Ezekiel’s manslaughter.

A trial date of January 3 next year has already been set. The case is due to last four to five weeks.

The four youths, from Enfield and Finsbury Park, north London, and Walthamstow, east London, are on conditional bail.
