Bulgarian dip blames boyfriend, dodges jail

A Bulgarian pickpocket who stole mobile phones from commuters on the Tube has escaped with a suspended sentence. Nadezhda Marinova, 22, claimed she was was pressured to steal by her boyfriend after he promised her a new life and a job in London together. Marinova, currently living in Beamish Road, Edmonton, was sentenced today to a 36 week imprisonment suspended for two years, after having pleaded guilty to five charges, four of theft and one of attempted theft.
