Bulgarian espionage ring used fake documents and high tech equipment to spy for Russia

Five Bulgarians used dozens of fake identities and advanced technology to spy for the Russians, a court heard. One of the agents, laboratory assistant Katrin Ivanova, 32, had 18 different passports and ID cards for countries including Greece, Italy and Slovenia, it is claimed. Ivanova, beautician Vanya Gaberova, 29, and her ex-boyfriend, decorator Tihomir Ivanchev, 38, all deny working for theo Russian intelligence services between August 2020 and February 2023.
