Cop who tasered burglar cleared of assault

A police officer has been cleared of assault after he fired his Taser at a suspected burglar who was left wheelchair-bound when he fell off a shed. Leonard Sandiford, 64,  sustained life changing injuries after PC Liam Newman, 31, gave chase and twice discharged his stun gun in Woodford Green, east London.
