Deliveroo rider killed by ‘careless’ driver

A careless driver killed a takeaway delivery motorcyclist by turning right in front of him at a junction without looking properly, a court heard. Alex Stevens, 27, failed to spot Deliveroo courier Wilmar Souza Saboia, 49, before pulling out into the oncoming lane on Stratford High Street in east London. Mr Saboia desperately tried to brake, leaving a 6m tyre mark in the road, before slamming his Suzuki bike into Stevens’ red Volkswagen. The Brazilian was hurled into the air…
