Former deputy head at royals’ school admits 22 child abuse charges

A former deputy head of Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first school was warned he faces a substantial jail sentence after he admitted 22 charges relating to child sexual abuse. Matthew Smith, 35, was appointed as deputy head of pastoral care at Thomas’s prep school in Battersea in September last year, after a five-year stint teaching in Nepal.
