Grenfell fraudster lived in hotel and demanded council flat make-over

A Grenfell Tower fraudster who swindled £95,706 after claiming he had to step over the bodies those who died in the blaze has beeen jailed for five and a half years. Alvin Thompson, 51, claimed he had been squatting in the stairwell for years and helped survivors escape from the blaze which claimed 72 lives in June 2017. He told charity workers he had been burned by falling debris before he finally left the building and was suffering from PTSD….
