Hammer wielding moped robbers face jail for crime rampage

  A gang of moped robbers who terrified pedestrians with a hammer and crowbar in more than 100 separate raids are facing jail. The muggers, aged 15, 16 and 17, intimidated passers-by and snatched their phones across central London between 18 April and 5 May this year. The trio, all from Islington, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob at Southwark Crown Court and will be sentenced on 6 October.
