Homophobic preacher’s barrister fails to show

A homophobic preacher has had his appeal delayed for a second time after a lawyer declined to represent him. Omar Mohamad, 66, known as ‘Uncle Omar’ is said to have hurled homophobic slurs at fellow speaker Paul Williams at Speaker’s Coroner in Hyde Park, central London. A court heard that he said Mr Williams was responsible for the deaths of 26 million people, by ‘spreading AIDS’. Mohamad is appealing against his conviction.
