‘I tied up pensioner to get her PIN – but my girlfriend blindfolded her’

A car valeter accused of killing a wealthy recluse before going on a £13,000 spending spree with her bank cards told a court the mother of his child helped him tie up the victim. Susan Hawkey, 71, was found decomposing under a duvet amongst piles of rubbish in her flat in Aylesbury Road, Neasden, northwest London, on 26 September 2022.
