‘I wasn’t being racist. I was rapping to the beat’
The son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White racially abused a police officer while ‘drunk as a skunk,’ a court heard.
Big brother star, Marco Pierre White Jr, 23, who lives at Rudloe Hall Hotel owned by his father in Wiltshire, claimed he was rapping when he called the officer a ‘n*gger.’
‘I was rapping along to a song that used the word ‘n*gger’,’ he told Hendon Magistrates.
Pierre White, who had missed previous hearings, appeared in court in dark jeans, a camo-style jacket and open shirt exposing his tattoos.
He slurred his words and appeared to be confused.
The court heard that on 15 November last year he and three women harassed staff at the Cabin Bar restaurant at Paddington train station.
Pierre White then hurled racist abuse at the officers who arrived to arrest him.
Fining him £200, District Judge Margot Coleman said: ‘You are very fortunate that what you are being tried for can only be dealt with a fine.
‘Your conduct was appalling.
‘You bring shame to yourself and shame to your family.’
She added: ‘You were certainly as drunk as a skunk on the 15 November.’
At Pierre White’s claim that he had missed previous court appearances because the letters had been wrongly addressed to his father, Judge Coleman said: ‘I am sure that this is a problem that you have encountered for 23 years.’
The court heard Cabin Bar server Sandra Goncalves was working at the bar when one of the women Pierre White was with asked her for a tap water.
‘I asked if they were ready to order food or drink and they laughed at me,’ she said.
‘He asked to order a pint of Peroni and I was willing to serve him as he wasn’t the one mocking me.
‘He was slurring his words and I believe he was on drugs.
‘He smelled really badly.
‘He had a black eye, probably because someone punched him in the face.’
After the group got rowdier, Ms Goncalves informed her manager, Henrietta Lohonya of the situation.
Ms Lohonya said: ‘He put both his feet on the table and I asked him to remove them.
‘He said ‘shut the f**** up’ and ‘get the f**** out of here!’
British Transport police were called, and they attempted to defuse the situation which made Pierre White’s behaviour worse.
PC Thomas Collins’ said: ‘He said ‘Don’t worry, they are fake police, they can’t do anything.
‘He followed me around saying ‘How does it feel to earn £11 an hour’ to me.’
PC Collins started to handcuff him, at which point Pierre White called him ‘f****t’.
PC Carina Denley said the women with Pierre White were filming the incident and threatening to put it on social media.
Pierre White took money from one of the women as he had no wallet, which the police officers asked to hold along with his other belongings.
PC Denley said: ‘He refused the give the money and said ‘f*ck these n*ggers’.
‘One of the females said: ‘You are a f*cking idiot, no wonder they are arresting you.’
PC Ryan Townsend said described while he was attempting to restrain Pierre White, he said ‘You like touching me, you must have been sexually abused as a child’.
He wrote: ‘He looked at me and said ‘fuck these n*****’ and I found this very offensive.’
Judge Coleman interjected: ‘It is quite clear from those statements that the defendant’s abusive language was not used in the course of singing a song.’
Pierre White, who was a contestant on Channel 5’s reality TV show Big Brother in 2016, appeared Westminster Magistrates court in front of chief magistrate Emma Arbuthnot two years ago, after he fraudulently racked up £2,500 on his ex-girlfriend, Carina Evan’s bank card.
His purchases included buying Apple store goods and sunglasses, which is thought he then sold for drugs.
He was then sentenced to 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months, while paying £2,500 in compensation to his victim.
Pierre White, 23, of Leafy Lane, Corsham, Wiltshire admitted one count of being drunk and disorderly in a public place and one count of racially or religiously aggravated harassment on 15 November.
