Killing filmed on Snapchat

A 15-year-old drill rapper’s final moments alive were filmed on Snapchat as two teenagers brutally attacked him, the Old Bailey heard.

Jordan Douherty was stabbed outside a 16-year-old girl’s birthday party on Clockhouse Lane, Romford, Essex, when gatecrashers were thrown out of the community centre venue.

Moments after walking outside, Jordan, who performed under the name Young Valenti, was confronted and then chased by a gang of strangers including his 17-year-old killer, who cannot be named, Nicolas Jalo, 18, and a 16-year-old boy.

But he tripped and collapsed to the floor and was kicked and punched repeatedly, until the 17-year-old male knifed him twice in the chest.

Jeremiah Idowu, 18, and another 17-year-old allegedly joined in the attack kicking and stamping on him both before and after he was stabbed.

Jurors were told the youth was convicted of the murder of Mr Douherty while Idowu and another 17-year-old deny causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Duncan Atkinson, QC, prosecuting, said: ‘The confrontation resulted in Jordan Douherty being pursued and chased by a large group of males up Clockhouse Lane and past the community centre.

‘The events unfolded suddenly, unexpectedly and at considerable speed.

‘They were witnessed by a number of persons connected with the party, and a number of others who happened to be in the area looking from their homes.

‘From this large group, a smaller group of males then surrounded Jordan at a time when he fell to the ground.

‘The members of that smaller group proceeded to inflict punches and stamps and kicks on him.

‘Again, the evidence, including both CCTV from the area and a video recorded on a mobile telephone that was distributed on Snapchat, shows Idowu to be a part of this smaller group that surrounded and then attacked Jordan Douherty.

‘He was with a male who it has not yet been possible to identify, but who was wearing a North Face hooded top and the 16-year-old.

‘They ran up at the time that Jordan went to the ground, and started kicking towards him, with repeated stamping movements.

‘Very rapidly, more young people joined in the joint attack in which, using their shod feet as weapons on a defenceless 15-year-old lying on the ground, they were together seeking to inflict, as an inevitable consequence of their joints actions, serious harm on him.

‘Although fatally stabbed, Jordan Douherty managed to use this brief lull to get to his feet and to try to get away by moving further up Clockhouse Lane.

‘In his fatally compromised state he did not get further than the next junction where he collapsed again.

‘As before, he was pursued by members of the attacking group, and, as before, when he collapsed, he was attacked again.

‘First, (the 17-year-old) and Idowu can be seen in the CCTV footage to kick Mr Douherty, in case of the (17-year-old), and to stamp on him, in the case of Idowu whilst he was again on the ground.’

Jurors were told Jalo, of Canning Town, east London, and the 16-year-old, from Dagenham, east London, have already been convicted of causing grievous bodily harm.

Idowu, of east Ham, east London and the 17-year-old of Dagenham, both deny causing grievous bodily harm.
