Lawyer’s bicker delays case of nicker from vicars who flew more than Whicker

A Church of England boss who ‘took more flights than Alan Wicker’ with stolen money has had his case delayed because of the barrister strike. Martin Sargeant, 52, was head of operations for the Diocese of London, which controls churches and their coffers in the capital. He allegedly requested cash for ‘dysfunctional churches’ and the money went straight into his pocket – and out again.
