Lender seized homes for unpaid loans

A loan shark made up to £1m lending money to customers including two sisters who needed cash to attend their father’s funeral in Ghana, a court heard. Dharam Gopee, 63, allegedly took control of people’s homes for a few thousand pounds if they failed to to repay their debts.
