A parliamentary contractor who burgled the Westminster office of former BBC director general Lord John Birt was spared jail. Glen Marshall, 58, grabbed a Mont Blanc fountain pen and £215 in petty cash from a locked desk after using his contractor’s pass to enter Millbank House.
