Moldovan hatchet killer was ‘cold and callous’

A Moldovan killer who hacked his sister-in-law to death with a hatchet was ‘cold and callous’ and not suffering from mental illness, a court heard. Svetlana Mihalachi, 53, complained the police and Home Office did nothing to help her before Nicolae Virtosu, 49, allegedly killed her on 9 April 2021 after making repeated threats.
