Nigerian footballing family ‘were money launderers’

A former Premier League star and two of his footballer brothers helped launder nearly £80,000 stolen by fraudsters from a string of international companies, a court heard. Sam Sodje, 38, who played for Reading during the 2006/07 season, Nigerian World Cup defender Efe Sodje, 35, and former Charlton striker Akpo Sodje, 37, allegedly allowed their bank accounts to be used in return for a slice of the proceeds.
