Patient kissed paramedic’s tattoo in the ambulance…he got her pregnant

YORKSHIRE

A paramedic got a patient pregnant after she kissed his tatoo on the way to hospital.

Matthew Holden invited himself to the woman’s home after they flirted in the ambulance she had called after drinking and taking M-Kat.

They had sex and she fell pregnant but then complained to the Health Professions Council.

Holden told the tribunal: ‘In the car she had seen my tattoo on my arm and rolled up my shirt sleeve.

‘She leant over and kissed me, I pulled away and said you can’t do that, you’ll get me in trouble.’

He added: ‘When I went over I thought I would just go over have a chat and that would be it.

‘I have to be responsible, but I had been pressured by some of her messages.

‘I’d been through a difficult time with a divorce.’

Holden told the hearing he had immediately regretted sleeping with the patient and was sick on the way home.

But texts were then produced sent by Holden in the aftermath of the pair’s liaison.

He wrote: ‘What a tease you are I love it

‘Can’t wait for round 2.

‘You can tell I like your boobs.

‘You made me so horny this morning.’

Holden said they met again after they had sex, but that was only ‘when she told me she was pregnant.’

He added: ‘She had asked me to go around again, I knew it wasn’t right and said I had work.

Holden told the panel he regretted his actions, and it had stopped him doing what he loved.

He said: ‘I deeply regret that I let it happen.

‘Being a paramedic is everything to me, it’s all I ever wanted.’

Holden went to the woman’s home in the early hours to take her to hospital, then poppped around when he had finished his shift.

The woman said: ‘I was quite drunk, he was sober.

‘He also knew I’d been on, and he took advantage of me.

The HCPC panel will now decide if his fitness to practise is impaired.

Holden, who is present at the hearing in central London, admits all the charges
