‘Pensioners headed people smuggling gang’

A gang of elderly people smugglers were paid more than £5,000 a head to bring a lorry load of illegal immigrants into UK, a court heard. The truck was intercepted in Southall with Afghan and Sikh migrants in the back on September 7, 2019 after an undercover operation by the National Crime agency.
