Preacher ‘led and directed banned militant network’

Preacher Anjem Choudary appeared in court today (mon) charged with leading and directing the banned militant network Al-Muhajiroun. Choudary, 56, and Canadian national Khaled Hussain, 28, were arrested last week over alleged membership of the proscribed organisation. The cleric was taken into custody during a dawn raid by Met Police counter terrorism detectives in east London, while national Hussain was arrested at Heathrow Airport.
