Two-year-old ‘murdered by mother and her lover’

A mother and her lover killed a two-year-old boy after a series of attacks left him with 39 fractures, a court heard Phylesia Shirley, 23, and Kemar Brown, 27, are accused of murdering little Kyrell Matthews at her home in Thorton Heath, south London. Prosecutors say Kyrell was attacked on five occasions between two hours and four weeks before his death on 20 October.
